It came broken, doesn't turn on. Waste of money.

Streaming media and much more!, July 20, 2014
The G-Box Midnight MX2 is simply one of the best streaming media players I’ve tested. It easily keeps pace with a Roku 3, and offers a lot more flexibility than an Apple TV. Looking at the G-Box MX2 as just a streaming media player, it easily holds its own against the competition. The sheer number of USB ports, the SD card slot, wired Ethernet and improved wireless capability make it one of the best streaming players on the market. The fact that it runs the Android OS, giving you access to all your favorite apps is just a bonus!

I've had this device for about 2 months and love it. I'm a relatively tech savvy guy and there is a learning curve to setting up the device and using it. It's not as intuitive as you would hope but there is a lot of support in internet forums.
I installed xbmchub which has a good maintenance package for repairing issues that come up.
You do have to be patient with some of the add-ons they don't always work and some of the streams don't recognize the device but I've always been able to find what I want to watch and get it to work after a little trial and error. Great device on the hardware side; small discreet and silent. The device does have to be in sight for the remote to work (not back behind the TV). I'm also using a Logitech K400r wireless keyboard and it worked right out of the box.
The box was set up with very generic add-ons; you'll want some others from the beginning. The xbmchub forums have great information and was the best suggestion I can give anyone having issues or questions.
TL;DR Great hardware, not for the tech clueless

Easy to install, July 18, 2014
Easy to install. Works without any problems.
Still have to compare the video quality. Will update soon.
Updating firmware to 1.1.9 supposed to improve picture quality.

works well

I use it at home & in the car, July 17, 2014
This is perfect! I use it in my bedroom & in my car. The A/V output makes it perfect for connecting to my Pioneer screen in my car & the hdmi output is used in my bedroom so I only carry the gbox unit when I transfer it. Another bonus is one of the usb ports can be used as a power source so when I go in my car I jus use that which saves me from needing to bring the ac adapter along for the ride. Programs run smoothly, I uninstalled xbmc & replaced it with Gotham 13.2, which as of now is the latest release & it runs perfect.
